Here are some images I created using Bryce 3D. Click on
the thumbnails for the full sized version.
The 3 images above where
created when the features of Bryce 3D were very new to me.
Since then I've had a bit more
time to learn more about what the software can do and hence the images below have a lot
more to them. I deliberately tried to break away from the use of watery reflections.
I used multi layers of terrain
to create a greater sense of depth and to vary the textures.
| In this first one I was pleased
with the feeling of depth that the haze gave but I still felt that the foreground seemed a
little 'flat'. I wasn't happy with the little puddle at the bottom left either. |
 |
| I added another light source
which not only solved the 'flat' foreground but inspired the title 'Fire Ants'. I
think the addition of the fire and smoke improves the overall balance. |
 |
| This third image is of the same
scene but from a slightly different angle. No extra points for the artistic merit but I
thought it was interesting and after the hours I spent on it I was up for a freebie. |
 |
| The basic same scene but in
moonlight. Some items have been repositioned and in smoke has been improved but the eye
needs something to lead it beyond the foreground. |
 |
| It may be a bit corny but the
visiting UFO provides not only the central focal point but also an extra light source to
create a greater sense of depth. |
